26 points Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Pro 32 Ohms Pro 80 Ohms Comparison winner $149 $159 vs 50 facts in comparison Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO vs Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Why is Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO better than Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro? Has stereo speakers? Has passive noise reduction? DT770 Pro or DT990 Pro for Production / Mixing. The question is in the title. I would use one of those for production / mixing in the late evenings when I cannot listen on big monitors. I also have the Sonarworks VST to compensate for imperfections in frequency response. What I read was that DT770 have more Bass (For me that's not always good Biggest difference would be the closed vs. open back design. Open backs are awesome where convenience allows for it. Personally, I use open backs (HD6xx) when alone in my room, mostly for either casual or critical listening. I tend to use closed backs (DT 770) when commuting, at work and on the occasion I want to block out external noises.
I never tried the DT-990's but wound up buying DT-880's after trying the DT-770's and a couple of AudioTechnica's (i don't remember which ones). The DT-880's like the other poster said seemed the most balanced. I've been quite pleased. The DT-770's has a bass bump and were fun to listen to but I couldn't trust them for checking my mixes.

Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro (250 ohm) vs Sennheiser HD 560s Which headphone is better for listening to music, mostly instrumental rock for artists like Guthrie, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Plini etc ? A comparison would really help me decide which one to buy. I require this only for listening to music (no mixing or recording). Thanks

They also have more bass and clear high notes. has passive noise reduction. Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO. Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X. The device sits tightly in place, creating an acoustic seal which reduces background noise and prevents your music from leaking out.

The Audio Technica ATH-M50x and the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO have very similar performance, but some might prefer the better build quality of the Beyerdynamic. Their metal frame feels sturdy, and the soft padding fabric feels nice on the skin. However, they can be tight for some, especially if you have a larger head. They might also sound a bit sharp for some and don't come with as many cable
