Step 1. Go to Amazon and specifically buy “ Forte Diesel Fuel System Treatment & DPF Cleaner & Turbo Cleaner Package ”. This product is the only one that works (I’ve used the others without success). It’s a bit more expensive than STP, Archoil and Wynns but for good reason. Seriously, I’d only buy the Forte DPF additive.
335d - diesel particulate filter. To nhastings. My first thread here on this site. I have the EXACT same technical issues on my 2011 335d. It was dropped off at my local BMW dealer yesterday. After diagnosing the problem, i was told i need to replace the diesel particulate filter, ($4000) . They just replace many " under warranty parts " 700 On X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, 3 and 5 Series Sedans, 7 and 8 Series vehicles, the engine must be running to show the next service. For certain maintenance operations, you can view the respective distance CEL on and told I need a new Diesel Particulate Sensor and don't know what that is. I know there's a Particulate Filter and an Exhaust Temperature Sensor (near the Filter) but no Particulate Sensor. BMW wants almost $1400 so, of course, "no" but wonder what to do next. Vehicle is a 2014 with N57 engine and 30K. Thanks very much for help!
